Trudging Through Final Fantasy 13
You’d think I’d have 40-60 hours put into the game since I haven’t even had work, but you’d be wrong. I just haven’t had the draw to play it much. It’s not like I expected it to be, and once you get over the initial rush of the new graphics and fighting system you realize it’s not as fun as it used to be when you were younger.
The games creators say they took out towns and open world stuff like that because it was just an illusion of being able to do what you want and they didn’t want to waste time on it or some bullshit. Well I liked going to towns and wondering around the world 50 times looking for treasure and secrets and fighting cool bosses and doing side quests like that. Now it’s not possible, you run down a predetermined path all the time, kind of like FF10 but worst. I dont know, it’s just not the same. When you get a good bossthat takes a little longer it’s a little bit of fun, but just not like it used to be. With RPG type games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion, Final Fantasy just seems more childish. It met some of my expectations but in other ways it’s really fallen short.
Maybe my opinion will change as I play further into it. I’m going to play some games in between beating it for sure, it’s a long game and there’s other stuff I want to play before spending all that time.
Final Fantasy 13 So Far!
It took me a few days to get a mere 8-9 hours or so into the game since it was going very slow to start with and not offering much of game play options yet. After about 7-8 hours though it started picking up in story and in what the game would let you do. Now that I’m another 5 or so hours into it it’s only gotten better. It could use more frequent enemies for my taste, but hopefully they will pick up. I’m just now facing my first Eidelon which is the “Summons” for this installment. It;s the Shiva Sisters and it’s more of a pain then I expected this for sure. It has a whole new way of earning your Eidelon differing with each one, it’s pretty cool though. I’m gonna give it one more try for the night/morning then go to bed though and try some more in morning or just continue on where it leaves me. I’ll talk more about it tomorrow also if I get enough time but so far so good.
Quick Update, beat the Shiva Sisters woop woop.
Final Fantasy VII on PS3 Ever?
All you hear is people talk about how they’re making the remake of Final fantasy VII, one of the best if not THE best FF game in the series. I’ve searched myself through plenty of news and content and what I’ve come to understand is nothing is set for creation or release yet. They remade the one scene in the game to show the power of the PS3 years ago and since then fans have taken that as a sign of a remake to come. They’re wrong.
It’s not that Square-Enix wouldn’t like to make the remake and satisfy the millions of fans. It would just have to be worth it. They’d have to know it was going to sell enough to make up for all the hard work of making the game over. At one point someone in the company said if they could make the game in a year or less they would do it, but right now that’s just not possible.
Being a big FF7 fan myself this isn’t good news to me, but I post it to help people out there realize it just isn’t happening yet, if ever. Want to see the Tech demo of the game they released 3 years ago then read the full story.
Final Fantasy XIII The Journey Begins!
Graphics are amazing…of course. Even the game play graphics are immaculate. Everything looks awesome. So far the game play feels just like Final Fantasy as well. I’m still waiting to see how the leveling system goes but right now It’s as expected from the game on Ps3. I’ll have to play more before really talking about it, I just wanted everyone to know I got the game and am playing it.
I doubt I’ll be covering any info on a game this big, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Until I update with some more FF new later.
BioShock 2 Beat!
I beat BioShock 2 a couple weeks ago and I thought I posted about it but I guess not. The game was great I thought, just as good as the first and better in some ways. i loved the weapon and plasmid setup better and the enemies were cooler and more varied. I wasn’t sure how the end was going to be but it was a good ending. I’m playing it through again right now, but not as fast. Play a little here and there, and this time around I might skip some of the info as well, maybe add some more strategies for enemies and such. I’m gonna try to get most of the remaining trophies for the single player mode this time as well.
I’ve been playing the multiplayer some here and there too. I think it’s fun as fuck. Sometimes it takes awhile to get enough players for a game but once you do the games are fun. I’ve only played a couple of the modes so far too so I have plenty of playing left before I’m done. I wanna try and beat it another time through before playing to much though, want to see if I get anything for beating it both ways. Need to unlock some more stuff for multiplayer but the only way you can is by playing multiplayer and ranking up I think.
The Rapture Continues
Yeah I played yesterday without covering my game play so now no real point again until next round through. I’ll just pick up where I left off next time and make the coverage all available in the BioShock 2 section so it’s easier to find in the future. So far the games been good though. The level “bosses” have been a little bit harder, they changed up the enemies more so they’re not all exactly the same looking, which make s a difference to me, I hate fighting the same thing over and over. The Plasmid and Weapons are much better this time through and offer more variety in attacks then the original making it possible to be strategic in all new ways.
One of my favorite new features is your able to repair the machines you hack. So if you stay on top of it you can always have “friends” around a level if you dont destroy them yourselves. So you always have turrets shooting splicers which leaves items for you to go around and gather if/when you go back to places and look for stuff. You can rack up some nice cash and research by walking through a level a few times, since enemies are always regenerated at a pretty fast pace.
The Little Sister setup is different too, instead of just beating a Big Daddy and you choosing whether or not to Save, you can now take the Sister with you to gather more ADAM and then choose to save or harvest at another time. Gathering item is done the same way it was towards the end of BioShock 1, Sister drains a corpse while you fend off all kinds of splicers. Which in my opinion adds more to the game then just fighting Big Daddies.
All in all so far it’s been like a whole new game aside from the story and setting environment.don’t get me wrong all the levels are new sections of Rapture, but you definitely get that Rapture feel the whole time, it’s not like a whole new place. They’ve done a good job of blending the best parts of the original while still throwing in enough brand new stuff to keep it really fresh and original, even in comparison to the first.
BioShock 2, Day 2
Day 2 of my journey through Rapture in BioShock 2. Starting where I left off in the second level and I’m looking for Tenenbaum and fighting through Train Workshop at the moment, at least it used to be. I continue through the area until I come to a room with a camera in it, hack the camera with a dart right way before the swarm of splicers come out or it’s going to be considerably harder to fend them off. After making it through the bastards I reach an elevator and off I go.
I exit into the Atlantic Express Train Station, right away you come across a new toy Rivet Trap, traps you shoot with the Rivet Gun like proximity mines but they shoot the enemy when it comes near. In the office of the station you’ll find the 13th Audio Diary: Improving on Suchongs Work by Brigin Tenenbaum. You then continue into a room where you talk to Tenenbaum, but Lamb is hot on my trail and Tenenbaum and a group of sisters must escape while I hold off the splicers. I survive the wave and find the 14th Audio Diary: The Situation by Brigid Tenenbaum on a bench in the middle of the room. Then I hop on a train and go to another station.
As I leave the train station and enter the Museum there’s the 15th Audio Diary: Eleanors Progress by Sofia Lamb on a table with candles. As I work my way through I come across the first Power to the People Upgrade Station. I increased Drill Damage. As I go through the Managers Office I grab the 16th Audio Diary: The Old Sheepdog by Carlson Fiddle on a work bench. after i get what I went to the office for I go back the way I came and now a Machine Gun I crossed before can be be picked up, now it’s on.
As I enter ryan Amusements, using the ticket I got from the Managers Office, I come across a Gene Tonic right away,Sports Boost. Just makes you a little faster…wooo. lol. In the museum on a bench I find the 17th Audio Diary: Volunteer by Nina Carnegie. I Make my way to the Gift Shop where I find the 18th Audio Dairy: Cutting Corners by Silas Bantam in the back by the safe. Then down in the bathrooms of the Gift Shop I found the 19th Audio Diary: Rapture is Deliverance by Sofia Lamb. So many damn diaries I have to stop every 5 minutes, bullshit hope they cut back once I get through a level or two.
40th Day Bad Rep?
I don’t really understand why 40th day is getting such bad reviews and everything. I played the whole thing almost 2 times through already and I liked it. It’s not the game of the year, but it’s certainly not the worste. I just don’t get how everyone can rant and rave over a game like Borderlands that I got so bored I couldn’t even finish. Yet 4oth Day that is a fun Multiplayer game and single. I had a few friends over to play it and they all liked it, one was playing to decide if him and a friend would get it and he went and bought it. So who are the assholes that give bad reviews and talk shit? Well I have a friend for one, who hasn’t even played the game but read reviews and instantly decided it sucks and starts spreading word it sucks, which is bullshit. That’s how you seperate real gamers from the talkers. I consider my judge on games pretty good, I have over 20 ps3 games and I have pretty much all the top games and games of the years ect.
Anyway I’m just letting people know if your looking for a straight up shooter that isn’t all about story but about shooting and killing people by yourself or with a friend. Not just facing a guy here or there, but a wave of guys that’ll pin you down and force you to use you teammate for flanking and using the Aggro system in the game. Just don’t brush the game off if you haven’t played it and are just going by here say or reviews by people that think every game has to be as good as BioShock or Fallout 3.
BioShock 2 Baby! Day 1
I just bought BioShock 2 today and im starting it now. After about 15-20 minutes of installing and loading the beginning start with a cut scene of course letting us know what’s going on.
You start off getting a little sister from one of the holes in the wall. You follow her through an active Rapture, she leaves your siote for a moment and she’s attacked by residents whom, when you approach, splice themselves up for the fight. It looks like your gonna win but one uses “Hypnotize Big Daddy” on you and it’s all over. A lady approaches you and tells you who she is and who the little sister is, saying she’s hers. She gives you a pistol and tells you to put it to your head and shoot, so you do. You wake up 10 years later and the game actually starts…
Not a bad start, let’s you know what’s going on sorta and what happened to you to start your problems. You start out in an unknown area, the first place you come across is Adonis Baths where you see the Big Sister for the first time, you don’t fight at all she just jumps around and goes off somewhere. If you go left at this point you’ll come across the 1st Audio Diary: Attention Workers by ‘Big Kate’ O’Malley. At this point i realize I’m in the Adonis Luxury Resort, yay for me. You continue through the room to the next where you have your first encounter. Go to the right here and there’s a door with a code to enter 1540 with a few things inside.
You then come across your first Plasmid vendor called Plasmid Therapy in this game. During the cut scene a little sister come and talks to you and come to join you but is taken by a Big Sister right away. It’s also easy to see who’s in charge or who’s the main Antagonist when the game starts at least, Sofia Lamb. All over the walls you see, Sofia Lamb is Watching, and other random stuff, as well as her coming over the intercom here and there. And from the 2nd Audio Diary: Fitness by Rachelle Jacques you find in the first bathroom hallway you come to, past some Drill Fuel. That’s another thing, the weapon setup is different, you start with a Drill and it uses fuel you find or buy from vendors. You can hit with it with a basic attack and attack with the drill functioning. So far so good. There’s a 3rd Audio Diary: To my Daughter by Sofia Lamb I grabbed somewhere between the 2nd and 4th so be on the lookout I grabbed it just didn’t realize and didn’t post.
